When I take photos |
My Favorite Photographer
|
I capture what I think works best in the frame. When I look through the camera’s lens I see the world in a different perspective and everything just lines up the way I see it and the way the camera sees it as well. I really enjoy capturing most of my subjects up close and personal, other than looking at the whole picture. I think it creates a more abstract view to my photos overall.
I decided to photograph trees and friends in the way I did because I enjoy seeing detail. I also like including something else in the frame but not having it in focus to force the viewer to look at the whole image instead of just what’s in focus. I like to photograph nature; especially trees because I just find the detail in them so beautiful. During this class I really experimented with how to capture the beauty in the trees . They are great for framing. My photographs represent who I am, which is an Elmira college student that loves golf and nature photography. I really enjoy framing people in nature, by excluding all but the most essential parts of a scene. My digital photos that I have chosen to upload here reflect what I enjoy seeing everyday of my life, which is golf and sunsets and people that interact with nature in a positive way. |
Matt Clark
Photographer that I really enjoyed is Matt Clark; he is a surf, water photographer who also photographs urban towns, including where he is from, which happens to be where I’m from as well. He captures beautiful stop action photos of the water and surfers. Using slower shutter speeds he captures the soft motion of the water and the waves. The reason I chose him is because he captures such great photographs of what I specifically love the most and reminds me of my home, the ocean. I absolutely love the way he frames the ocean by photographing different ocean views instead of having a typical sunset photo. He gets really creative on how he frames the ocean, which adds to the photos. |
